A few years ago we introduced freerando into all our ski safaris… It was obvious that we were going to have to start walking a bit to make fresh tracks after several days without snow. So what is slack country skiing? It’s a combination of off-piste skiing, also known as freeriding, and one or more short walks on foot or with skin, always starting from the top of the ski lifts. The aim is to quickly reach terrain delivering fresh tracks even if it hasn’t snowed for a long time. The emphasis is on the pleasure of the descent rather than the effort of the ascent.
Slack country skiing is THE guarantee of skiing fresh tracks everyday!
